Angolan ambassador accredited to Vatican

Vatican, ANGOLA, September 10 - Pope Francis accredited last Friday in Vatican city, the new ambassador of Angola, Paulino Baptista, to the Holy See.,

After the delivery of the credentials, the holy priest held a private meeting with Angolan diplomat, who spoke of the last developments taking place in his country, with highlights to the current political transition, preservation of the peace and consolidation of the democracy.

 

Former Hotels and Tourism minister, Paulino Baptista, was appointed ambassador to the Vatican on March 7 by the Angolan president, who on the occasion pointed out the reactivation of a commission to negotiate a framework-agreement with the Vatican for the expansion of the signal of Rádio Eclesia all over the country as some of the executive concrete paths with view to improving cooperation with this Catholic State.  

 

The diplomatic relations between Angola and Vatican was formalized in July 8 of 1997.
