8TH ANNUAL BLUE HAT AND BOWTIE SUNDAY

Chicago, Illinois – Thursday, March 8, 2018. Trinity United Church of Christ and The Blue Hat Foundation
announce their 8th Annual Blue Hat and Bowtie Sunday taking place on March 11, 2018.

March is designated as Colon Cancer Awareness month, and on Sunday, members of the congregation will be decked out in blue, supporting colorectal cancer survivors and in memory of friends and family members
who have passed away due to colon cancer.

During Blue Hat and Bowtie Sunday, representatives from various community partners, including: Access
Community Health Network, the American Cancer Society, Advocate Christ Hospital, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., Alpha Chapter; Chicago Family Health Center, Gilda’s Club, Imerman Angels, Northwestern Robert H. Lurie Center, the University of Chicago, and Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, will be onsite providing resources on colorectal cancer, providing health screenings, and information and resources about other chronic health conditions (diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and cholesterol), all considered
to be connected to colon cancer will be provided.

When: Sunday, March 11, 2018 | 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
(Immediately following the 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services)**
