William Lightner looks back on his global travels in the name of God

William Lightner

MARIETTA, GA, UNITED STATES, March 2, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Many of us commit a significant portion of our lives to something we're passionate about. This could be sports or fitness, charity, or some form of conservation.

For William Lightner however, he found his passion in Christ.

Having served in the military before forging a career in executive sales and finance, Lightner made the decision to quit the mainstream, and instead travel across multiple continents as a servant of God.

The Judson University graduate credits his education, first and foremost, with the decision he made which would change his life forever.

"Judson University was an outstanding college for me because of the higher education setting and their worship of God," says William Lightner.

He adds, "The university made me into the man I am today. Understanding the importance of personal relationships, but also my relationship with God was such a big part of my college experience."

Prior to his time at the Illinois-based university, Lightner had attended a private Baptist school for much of his youth.

Now, decades later, and alongside a well-known religious mission, Lightner has thus far traveled to 28 different countries.

Here, he has personally assisted hundreds of individuals in finding comfort in God. Furthermore, Lightner has addressed vast crowds, often numbering many hundreds or thousands at a time.

"I teach them to acknowledge fellowship," he says, "as well as faith through prayer."

He goes on to explain, "I do this so that they can live a more sound life as a follower of Christ."

To join the mission, Lightner entered a 25-week development process, of which he says, "The mission got me started with speaking and traveling the world. They hold a special place in my heart."

Of the mission, he adds, "The vision for any mission began with Jesus Christ as He chose twelve ordinary men for His disciples to witness His life on earth and to be the first recipients of His teaching. The common goal [of a mission] is to see Jesus lifted up, and the Holy Spirit move in power and authority."

Now, whether at home in the US, or overseas, William Lightner is a highly regarded motivational speaker. "I believe that, regardless of the topic, there are three main factors which every speaker should consider," he says. "These are being personal with the crowd, showing passion, and being powerful with words."

Lightner further adds in regards to the mission and his travels, "I'm forever appreciative of the chance they gave me. They're one organization I love doing work for."
