TOTTENHAM have entered talks with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
The North Londoners announced Bees boss Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou's successor on Thursday.
Mbeumo, 25, has been strongly linked with a summer switch to Manchester United.
But Tottenham have now emerged as serious contenders for the forward's signature following Frank's arrival.
We exclusively revealed on Sunday that Tottenham are ready to hijack Man Utd’s £60m Bryan Mbeumo transfer once Frank's appointment had been confirmed.
Initial talks have now been held between Spurs and Brentford over a deal.

It was previously indicated that Mbeumo fancied a move to Old Trafford.
But the Cameroon international is now said to be "intrigued" by the prospect of reuniting with Frank at White Hart Lane.
Mbeumo is said to be valued at around £60m by Brentford chiefs.
Europa League winners Tottenham paid around £10m to acquire Brentford boss Frank and his coaching staff, including highly-rated coach Justin Cochrane.

And Frank himself admitted that the forward should command a significant fee.
The new Spurs boss said of Mbeumo while still in charge of Brentford: "It is clear that if he is to be sold, it must be for a nice, nice amount. It is a lot. Mucho. Really a lot.
"How many wingers score 20 goals for a mid-table club? And then with seven assists plus his work ethic. And his character. All these things mean that he has a lot, so he is a good player."
Mbeumo was brought to West London by the Dane in 2019.
The prolific star has since flourished under his management, scoring 20 Premier League goals last term.
SunSport reported earlier this week that Spurs were interested in hijacking Man Utd's swoop for Mbeumo.
Technical director Johan Lange will play a key role in negotiations.
Lange has a good relationship with Frank, with the pair having worked together at Lyngby in Denmark.
Spurs are chasing a new winger this summer, with Mbeumo among their top targets.
Also of interest is Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.
