Archbishop Charles Scicluna leaves Malta today to attend the funeral Mass of His Holiness Pope Francis, which will be held tomorrow, at 10am in St Peter's Square at the Vatican, the archdiocese said Friday.

Archbishop Scicluna will represent the Maltese Episcopal Conference and will join patriarchs, cardinals, archbishops, bishops and priests from around the world in concelebrating the Eucharist.

The funeral Mass will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals.

The Church in Malta joins the Universal Church in thanking the Lord for Pope Francis' life of service and mission to the People of God.
