Ireland AM star speaks out as Garron Noone deactivates popular Instagram and TikTok accounts after video reaction

POPULAR influencer Garron Noone has deactivated his Instagram and TikTok accounts after hitting back at the far-right in the wake of a viral video on immigration.
The Mayo native, who boasted 1.7 million TikTok followers, had been asked by fans to give his opinion on Conor McGregor's St Patrick's Day White House appearance.
And while Garron stated he doesn't think McGregor's "a good person", he said he wasn't "surprised" that some people agreed with the fighter's opinion.
The country musician put out a video on TikTok saying: "There absolutely is an immigration issue in Ireland.
"That doesn’t mean that people feel like we shouldn’t take the refugees that we’re able to take. It doesn’t mean that people feel like people shouldn’t be able to come here for better opportunities.
"The systems that we have in place are being taken advantage of, and that is plain to see, and the government continually does not allow people to express their concerns about that.
"Along with this, Ireland continues to become one of the richest countries in the world, while most people’s quality of life is going down.
"Our towns and especially our cities are becoming much less safe. Now that’s not just because of immigration, there’s a lot of factors to that, but if you can’t see that that’s happening, then you have not left your house.
"Communities all over Ireland are concerned, and their concerns are continuously not being heard. And when you continuously suppress what people are feeling, you turn them towards more extreme beliefs.
"You increase their distrust in the government, and you push people towards racism and extremism. Now, no doubt, a load of people in the comments are going to completely misconstrue what I’ve said here, but that’s the internet for you.
"Anyway, stay delicious."
Garron also made a follow-up video to clarify his stance saying: "I am not anti-immigration. Absolutely crazy to think that.
"Right after the Dublin riots happened, I made a video where I came out and completely condemned the actions of the far right."
The influencer received a huge amount of backlash online from all sides of the debate.
Many influencers, friends and fans have since defended Garron and hit back at trolls who have sent him "abuse".
Ireland AM star Eric Roberts took to Instagram this morning to share a photo of himself with Garron and captioned it: "The internet can be a scary place, but this man has only ever made it brighter, funnier and more entertaining for us all."
While former Dancing With The Stars contestant Miriam Mullins, who has 2.2 million TikTok followers, shared her outrage on the "bullying".
She said: "I'm so appalled. One of my favourite people to watch and follow on TikTok, I literally sit down every evening with my cup of tea and watch Garron Noone.
"He's taking down all his accounts because he's been bullied off the internet.
"People asked him for his opinion, he gave it and somehow people can't take it and go on this witch-hunt.
"You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't. Why are people twisting his narrative? He's not racist.
"Whether you're for or against immigration, it's got nothing to do with race. People need to cop the f*** on."
Influencer Shanice Griffin also gave her two-cents on the situation, calling it "horrific".
The singer said: "Can someone please check on Garron Noone and see if he's okay? I think you forget there's genuine people behind these accounts.
"The abuse that this man is getting on the internet is horrific. It's crazy how everyone switches up on the internet so easily.
"He's deactivated every single one of his accounts. I'm extremely worried. He's a human, he's not a robot. He sees every comment.
"You can't win on the internet. You're not going to please everyone. I'm not one to usually get involved in this type of stuff but when someone is being harassed to the point of deactivating their accounts and going radio silent, that's worrying."
