Minister Koçiu follows the disinsection process in Kavaja: We will continue along the entire coastline

After Shiroka, the National Disinsecting Program continued in the coastal area, exactly in Kavajë, at Mali i Robi.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, together with the director of ISHP, Eugena Tomoni, as well as the sub-prefect of Tirana District, Parid Xjihani, closely inspected the disinsection process, which is being carried out in the coastal and urban areas, according to all standards to minimize the negative effect on nature and to protect nature's biodiversity.

Minister Koçiu underlined that this national program is entirely dedicated to the cleaning of mosquitoes in the territories with vacationers.

She emphasized the importance of cooperation with the local government for the disinsection of the surfaces owned by private businesses, as well as the territory covered by the district municipalities, in order to guarantee a safer and healthier environment for vacationers and tourists.
"It is very important to respect the hygiene and sanitary measures for all businesses, all private operators that operate. It is not without purpose that we also have the State Health Inspectorate, which also performs the role of supervising all operators, private businesses, all hotel accommodation structures to respect hygiene and sanitary measures", stated Koçiu.

The Minister of Health has underlined that the disinsection will be extended to the entire coastline, lagoons and parks, a process which will continue until October depending on the meteorological conditions. Continuous monitoring will be carried out every two to three weeks, depending on the situation.

In Malin e Robit there are about 13 hectares of canals, ponds, parks, wells, which have been evaluated by the Local Health Care Units in cooperation with the municipalities, in terms of the territories where the larvae have been identified or the habitats that are at risk for the presence of theirs.
